Multiple songbooks, one file
A single portable .vsdb file holds many songbooks, each with its own song numbering. Copy it, back it up, move it between computers.
Free & offline · Windows + Linux
V‑Songbook (Virtual Songbook) is a desktop app for managing songbooks and projecting lyrics onto a second screen — during worship, performances, and presentations. Create collections, import songs, and present with automatic font sizing. Everything lives in one portable file on your computer.
Also available as a .deb for Debian / Ubuntu.
Amazing Grace · Verse 2
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved
About the app
V‑Songbook was built for the moments when the singing matters more than the software. Prepare at home on your laptop, walk into the hall, plug in the projector, and sing.
A single portable .vsdb file holds many songbooks, each with its own song numbering. Copy it, back it up, move it between computers.
Opens and converts .vsb (JET/Access) files directly — no extra drivers needed. Re-importing skips songs you already have.
The projected verse shrinks to fit the screen automatically, and long titles are trimmed to a single line.
A presenter view with the full verse list on your screen, and a clean, frameless projection window that stays on top of the second screen.
Instantly filter songs by number, title, songbook, or lyrics — even across a thousand songs.
Light and dark themes, custom fonts and colors for the projection screen, and all data stays on your machine. No account, no cloud.

Comparing options?
If you are choosing song presentation software, you have probably come across OpenSong, EasyWorship, ProPresenter, Quelea, SongPress, or MediaShout. Each is a capable tool, and the right pick depends on your congregation, band, or event.
V‑Songbook takes a deliberately simpler path: it is a free, offline desktop app centered on songbooks rather than media production. Your whole library lives in one portable file, Visual Songbook (.vsb) collections convert in a click, and lyrics project cleanly to a second screen without accounts, subscriptions, or an internet connection.
